2024年春季，CABLE发起全新青年艺术家展览计划「生鲜市场 FRESH MARKET」，希望通过一系列艺术作品在城市现场的并置交流，发掘空间与社会视角下的鲜活艺术声音。

CABLE与广州美术学院油画系合作呈现首期展览《剧场》，邀请青年艺术家蔡清贵带来《童真神话》与《舞台剧场》系列绘画与装置，及特别展出的自画像《海浪之歌》等14件作品。

作品从具象物件的异化出发，强化了当代生存环境下人与人、人与物、物与物的隐性关系。幻象、诙谐、暧昧、童趣中，又逻辑紧密、巧妙恰接，因此带有明显的现实主义情结。同时，作品对错空间、错视觉和综合媒介的娴熟运用，如同在观看场域中构筑了一处反城市化和反消费主义的乌托邦。城市世界作为独特的领土集合，同时也是物质、事件、物品、建成环境的叠加，这些要素交错并置，构成人们原本丰富的感官认知。对蔡清贵而言，这些剥离常规意义的物件和场景成为了新的波普化符号，它们突兀立于舞台中央聚光灯下，邀请观众一道将日常生活和个体回忆延伸到画面之外，寻求解读当代城市生活中迥异于宏观叙事的意义秘钥。

蔡清贵，1999年出生于广东汕尾，2023年毕业于广州美术学院油画系，曾入选罗中立艺术奖学金、许钦松艺术创作奖，现工作生活于广州。

CABLE is announcing the new solo exhibition series "FRESH MARKET", bringing emerging artists and fresh artistic voices into an urban perspective and live scene.

CABLE is pleased to work with Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts to present the first exhibition "Theater", inviting Cai Qinggui to showcase 14 works that include "Myth of Childhood" and "Stage" series of paintings and installations, as well as self-portrait "Song of the Waves". The exhibition opens from May 14 to June 1, 2024.

Cai Qinggui's work starts in the alienation of specific objects, strengthen the implicit relationships between people and objects in a contemporary environment. Within fantasy, humor, ambiguity and innocence, His works are logically connected with an obvious realism complex. Meanwhile, Cai's skillful uses of false space, trompe l’oeil and mixed media seem to construct a utopia of anti-urbanization and anti-consumerism in the viewing field. As a unique collection of territory, the urban world is also a superposition of materials, events, objects, and built environments. These elements are interlaced and juxtaposed to form people's rich sensory cognition. For Cai Qinggui, these objects and scenes stripped of conventional meanings have become new pop symbols. They stand abruptly under the central spotlight, inviting the audience to extend daily life and personal memories beyond the picture, and seeking to interpret meaning in contemporary cities away from generalized narratives.

Artist

Cai Qinggui was born in Shanwei, Guangdong in 1999. He graduated from Studio 1 of the Oil Painting Department of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 2023. He was selected for the Luo Zhongli Art Scholarship and the Xu Qinsong Creation Award. Cai now lives in Guangzhou.
