华西为外部视野，坝为时空格局。如果说城市空间是历史研究的“田野”，华西坝正是历经百余年光阴而有机延续的绝佳土壤。一个多世纪的多元文化洗礼和时事变迁，塑造了今天为人所知的这片生机勃勃的城市空间。

项目首次在城市街道中展开叙事，与文字图像之外建立一种真实的空间尺度，让人们在梧桐树下直面这里百年氤氲的蓬勃朝气。水景、草木、道路、建筑，彼此分离而有线性并置，呈现开放街区中的参与式阅读，组成个体能够自由解读华西坝的“意义构造”。

A broad perspective makes ‘Huaxi’ (West China), and a spatiotemporal pattern marks ‘Ba’ (Plain). If urban space is the ‘field’ of historical research, Huaxi Ba is the perfect soil that has evolved organically for centuries, where multiculturalism shaped this vibrant space known today. Though historical materials and accounts abound, the restoration of these lively memories, and the contextualized adaptation in times of rapid urbanization.

For the first time, ‘Huaxi Ba Revisited’ narrates in the city street its own history. It establishes a true spatial scale beyond words and images, inviting people to experience the flourishing spirit of this century-old quarter under lush sycamore trees. Water, woods, roads, and buildings are linearly juxtaposed, presenting participatory reading in an open neighborhood, and therefore individualized “meaning structure” of Huaxi Ba. In addition to refined historical images and large-scale models, multimedia installataions connect reality with the future. Time and traffic are rolling non-stop, but an anchor has been erected in the middle of Daxue Road: the past is revisited in flash-backs, while the future is engaged in full motion.
